There will be many winners on Diamond Day

There will be plenty of winners when Diamonds Day, one of the main harness racing meetings in the south, takes place at Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill this Saturday (April 30).

The ladies will have the chance to win a diamond ring worth $4,200 courtesy of Coats & Schuck Jewelers and the Invercargill Harness Racing Club in an on-course promotion that couldn’t be easier. How to earn this magnificent gem will be revealed next week.

Ladies will also be welcomed onto the course with their first complimentary glass of wine on race day.

The other grand prize is the chance to win a spot in the final draw later this season for a trip to the Peninsular Beachfront Resort in Mooloolaba. To win the spot, you must be on the course on the day and be 18 years of age or older. Staff and committee members and their families are not permitted entry and only one entry per person is permitted.

Diamonds Day is the culmination of several of the major southern series and the day will see the Nevele R Stud/Macca Lodge Southern Oaks Final and the Alabar Southern Supremacy Stakes Final, both Group 2 races with stakes of 50 $000 over a distance of 2700m. The other Group 2 race on the schedule is the $60,000 Diamond Creek Farm Classic for 2-year-olds. The $30,000 Regent Car Court South Cup Final is also on the schedule on a day when the stakes exceed $290,000.

The day will provide exciting opportunities to win great prizes as well as a great day of quality racing.

Vaccine passes are no longer required to attend, so what better opportunity to come and have a great day on Saturday, April 30.

The first race of the day is scheduled for 12 p.m.

Keep an eye on our Southern Harness Racing facebook page for more information.

Admission during the day will be free.
