The Diamond Foundry Confirms the Truth About Rihanna’s Diamonds in the Sky

Company goes beyond carbon neutrality by crystallizing greenhouse gases into diamonds

SAN FRANCISCO, April 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Diamond Foundry Inc., the Greenhouse Gas Crystallizer™ founded ten years ago in San Francisco, Californiaannounced today that it has gone beyond Carbon Neutral™ by crystallizing greenhouse gases into diamonds at its zero-emissions smelter in the US West Pacific – and doing so at MegaCarat scale.

Specifically, Diamond Foundry crystallizes methane, a greenhouse gas, into diamonds. One tonne of methane (CH4) emitted into the atmosphere creates approximately 84 times more atmospheric warming than one tonne of CO2 over a 20-year period. Methane accounts for 16% of global carbon emissions on a weight basis, but with this 84x impact factor, it is the predominant component of the global carbon footprint.

“When I look up at the blue sky, I see greenhouse gases and a future diamond,” said Martin Roscheisen, CEO of Diamond Foundry. “It took us years to prove it on a grand scale, but Rihanna was absolutely right: diamonds are in the sky.”
