Six “Mubarakiya” shops closed – “Manufacture, sale of perfumes illegally” – ARAB TIMES

KUWAIT CITY, May 16: As part of its intensive campaigns against shops in Souk Al Mubarakiya, the Ministry of Trade and Industry has carried out the administrative closure of 6 shops, including 4 manufacturing and selling perfumes without a license from manufacturing, and 2 others for carrying out commercial activity other than what is mentioned in the license, reports the daily Al-Rai.

The emergency team completed legal proceedings against the offenders, while the ministry continued its intensive market campaigns to ensure that stores abide by its rulings and laws. In a related context, and as a continuation of the Ministry’s efforts in its fight against counterfeits and to complement its role in removing the name of Kuwait from the watch list for the protection of intellectual property rights, it closed 9 stores inside a mall at Salmiya area, to display and sell pirated products – counterfeit goods from major international brands.

The emergency team also seized large quantities of fake clothes, shoes and bags and legal action was taken against the offenders. Separately, the Public Environment Authority announced that a specialized team from the authority, in coordination with the public fire service, carried out an inspection campaign of gold and jewelry repair shops. in Souk Al Mubarakiya, which resulted in the issuance of four offenses under Article 18 for non-compliance with technical and environmental requirements, continuing the efforts of the authority in the Environmental Protection Law. No. 42 of 2014 and its amendments to establishments and individuals. The authority stressed to workshop owners the need to observe the regulations, instructions and regulations set forth in the Environmental Protection Law to avoid violations in accordance with the law.
