This leads to the type of coins that people cherish forever. Today, De Beers has released one of its most inspiring collections to date. Get ready for the Nature butterfly portrait collection.

New collection channels the transformative symbolism of a butterfly to represent our own human journeys of personal transformation. It highlights its delicacy and playfulness in design and celebrates the role butterflies play in nature, producing conversation starters that will never lose their wonder.

“Each piece in the Portraits of Nature collection is an ethereal expression of the wearer’s ever-evolving personal journey,” said Céline Assimon, CEO of De Beers Jewelers.. “Brilliant with the brilliance of ethically sourced De Beers diamonds, the designs connect the wearer to nature and life in motion.

“The African monarch butterfly is iconic in Africa, a continent that is close to our hearts, so with this new collection, we are connecting our customers to the De Beers Diamond Route — 500,000 acres of conservation lands celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.

Butterflies are a beautiful barometer of nature, as well as important pollinators of flowers and plants. They increase biodiversity, but their fragility makes them extremely sensitive to change. Butterflies are one of the first species to be impacted by climate change and habitat fragmentation, but they are also one of the first species to return when habitats begin to recover.

They certainly do not stand still, evolving from day to day to unveil new beauties and wonders. Similarly, the new De Beers collection invites wearers to be proud and revel in revealing their true selves, personal transformations and connection to nature.

De Beers is uniquely invested in ensuring that every diamond it discovers creates a lasting positive impact for the people and places where they find themselves.

Eleven eye-catching and timeless butterfly pieces make up De Beer’s new high jewelry collection. Modern elegance and a free, playful spirit characterize the collection with pavé-set diamonds tracing the shapes of butterfly wings, accented by a mix of fancy-cut diamonds and illuminated by intricate diamond patterns that sparkle from every angle to create a feeling of movement.

The pendant – weighing a total of 0.21 carats in 18-carat white or pink gold – is openworked and plays with light, while the body of the butterfly is represented by a marquise diamond. A graceful yet playful ring, alluring stud earrings and distinctive delicate bracelet are also available in 18k rose and white gold. The necklace, with its curved line of pavé-set white diamonds, blends seamlessly into the butterfly’s wings, while an open ring suggests the butterfly is simply sitting on the hand, capturing a fleeting moment in time.

Similarly, sleeper earrings paved with diamonds suspend a duo of sensational butterfly motifs.

The stunning all-white diamond butterfly brooch can be purchased alone or attached to the 18k white gold and white diamond necklace with a total weight of 19.20 carats. Delightfully, the butterfly then seems to float on the ribbon of cascading diamonds. The brooch is also available in four other colors, offering the possibility of alternative transformations.

The cocktail ring presents an exquisite openwork butterfly that seems to rest on the finger, while those of the earrings gently close their wings, with detachable drops. The ring and earrings are available in white diamonds, as well as different colorways, with the fancy colored diamonds reflecting the sparkle and glow of the wings of these magical creatures. The high jewelry collection is completed with a dazzling white diamond headband, its butterfly landing on the hair, detachable whenever a simple diamond hair decoration is desired.

Besides the butterflies’ natural beauty, the species is incredibly special to De Beers and has important links to the jeweler’s history. There are over 100 species of butterflies on just one of De Beers’ Diamond Route properties. More butterflies than you’ll find in the whole of the UK.

The new collection was photographed along the Diamond Route, as well as at De Beers Venetia Limpopo Nature Reserve in South Africa. The collection pays homage to butterflies and celebrates conservation successes achieved through the De Beers Diamond Route.

It’s almost fitting that this iconic African wildlife haven celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. So did the debut of the De Beers Portraits of Nature butterfly collection.

“Our Venetia Limpopo Nature Reserve was the perfect backdrop for our belief that butterflies and diamonds are both precious treasures of nature, undergoing a magical transformation to reveal their unique beauty,” says Assimon.. “They are both a picture of grace, magic, hope and new beginnings.”
